Suryakumar Yadav Gets Brutally Trolled On Twitter After Another Low Score

Is Suryakumar Yadav into the last stages of his top-flight career? Heck, could this even be this last year in international cricket and the IPL? Will SKY not play for India again despite leading the side to the T20 World Cup title earlier this year?

Suryakumar’s form with the bat has only worsened. So much so that his position in the MI and Indian T20I teams has come under the scanner despite his excellent body of work over the past half-dozen years.

At the T20 World Cup 2026, Suryakumar scored 242 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 136. However, one-third of those runs (84) came in a single innings against the USA, albeit in tough conditions and a tough situation.

The IPL 2026 has been disastrous for the senior MI batsman. In 8 innings this season so far, Suryakumar has managed only 162 runs at an average of 20 and a strike rate of 140, numbers far from being ideal for a key middle-order batsman.

His poor returns are one of the reasons the Mumbai Indians have struggled this year with the bat as the five-time champions are fighting to stay alive in the playoffs race.

Of his 8 outings in IPL 2026, five have ended before he reached 20. He bagged his third single-digit score of the tournament on Wednesday when he was dismissed for only five runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

MI hosted SRH at the Wankhede Stadium for a crucial encounter. Batting first, MI posted 243/5. However, that total is not considered a match-winning score anymore, especially after seeing the record run chases that have happened in the IPL since the inception of the Impact Player rule.

Couple that with MI’s bowling attack that has lacked teeth and SRH’s marauding batting order, MI failed to put on a solid, collective show with the ball, resulting in a fifth straight victory for SRH.

Yadav’s yet another flop show was certainly one of MI’s biggest disappointments tonight.

Suryakumar came into a set platform laid down by Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks, the newly minted MI opening duo smashing 93/0 in 7 overs before the right-handed Englishman was dismissed. Suryakumar was promoted ahead of Naman Dhir and straightaway collected a boundary, steering Nitish Kumar Reddy behind square on the offside.

However, in the next over, he became the victim of Eshan Malinga’s cleverness. The Sri Lankan bowled a brilliant bouncer right at SKY’s head. The MI batter went with a pull shot but didn’t connect it well and holed out to deep square leg.

Suryakumar stood at the crease in disbelief before beginning his long walk back to the dressing room.

Fans on social media trolled Suryakumar mercilessly as the India and MI batter failed to put up a notable performance. Check out some Twitter reactions.

Meanwhile, SRH batsmen hammered the MI bowlers to all parts of the Wankhede Stadium to seal the fourth-highest target in IPL history.

Heinrich Klaasen bagged the Man of the Match award for his blistering knock of 65* off 30 balls. This was after Abhishek Sharma (45 off 24) and Travis Head (76 off 30) pumped the MI bowlers during their opening stand of 129 runs in 8.4 overs.

SRH have now recorded five wins in a row and are tied with RCB and RR for 12 points each. MI, on the other hand, have their season all but vanished, having earned only 4 points in 8 matches.
