Where To Watch AUS vs SA T20I Series In India: The Test season for the major teams has come to a halt now, and T20Is are set to retake centerstage as teams begin their preparations for next year’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka in February and March.
While the Asian teams will compete in the Asia Cup next month, Australia and South Africa will clash in a three-T20I series this month, starting from Sunday, August 10.
The first two AUS vs SA T20Is will be played in Darwin and the third in Cairns. The ODIs will be played in Cairns and Mackay. All three are not traditional international venues for Australia, but Cricket Australia chose these cities because of weather threats in other parts of the country, like Sydney and Melbourne. Plus, this tour by the Proteas will help promote these venues for future international fixtures.
Both teams are coming into this T20I series off contrasting results in their previous one. Australia hammered the West Indies 5-0 in the Caribbean.
In another part of the world, in Harare, South Africa were involved in a tri-series, where they beat Zimbabwe in two matches but lost all three of their encounters against New Zealand, including the final; though, it must be noted that the Proteas fielded a second-string line-up without several of their first-choice players. Of the missing players in Harare, captain Aiden Markram and speedster Kagiso Rabada have returned for this rubber against Australia.
