Virat Kohli Reacts To Air India Ahmedabad Flight Crash: Former India captain and superstar cricketer Virat Kohli has reacted to the devastating crashing of the Air India flight in Ahmedabad on Thursday.
The country went into a state of mourning on Thursday afternoon after the news broke out that an Air India plane carrying over 200 people plus the crew had crashed in the Meghaninagar area near the Sardar Vallabhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad.
Soon after thudding into the ground in a populated area, the plane caught fire. The crash occurred when the flight was taking off, when the aircraft was barely over 600 feet height. The flight was being commanded by Capt Sumeet Sabharwal with First Officer Clive Kundar.
In the aftermath of this tragic event, India’s PM Narendra Modi promptly spoke to the Minister of Civil Aviation, Rammohan Naidu, who told the PM that he is rushing to Ahmedabad to oversee the rescue and relief activities, as reported by The Indian Express.
It has been learned that the aircraft carried 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, 1 Canadian national and 7 Portuguese nationals, apart from the crew members.

Meanwhile, Kohli will be away from action now that he has retired from Test cricket as well. During the IPL 2025, the 36-year-old announced his Test retirement, having retired from T20Is already last year after lifting the T20 World Cup trophy.
Last month, Kohli and RCB won their maiden IPL trophy, ending a long wait. Kohli remains the only player in IPL history to play all 18 seasons for a single franchise.
In IPL 2025, Kohli played a key role in RCB lifting the title, as he scored 657 runs at an average of 54 and a strike rate of 144 with 8 fifties to his name. All of his half-centuries were in winning cause.
