He wrestled his final match in the WWE on an episode of SmackDown on April 17, 2018. His last match was a tag team match alongside his tag team partner, Kevin Owens, against AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura. He also became the inaugural AEW World Champion at All Out 2019. As of 2025, it is widely reported that Jericho’s AEW contract will be over by the end of this year, and WWE has shown interest in bringing one of its most decorated superstars back home.
