Michael Bracewell is a New Zealand cricketer who plays for the national team and Wellington. He is the nephew of former Test players Brendon and John Bracewell, the cousin of current player Doug Bracewell, and the cousin of comedian Melanie Bracewell. He went to Kavanagh College in Dunedin.
Bracewell made his international debut in March 2022. He was selected in New Zealand’s ODI and T20I squads for the home series against the Netherlands and played his first ODI on 29 March 2022 against them. In May 2022, he was added to New Zealand’s Test squad for the England tour and made his Test debut on 10 June 2022 against England.
For the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, he was part of the New Zealand squad. In February 2025, he was also included in the squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan.

Michael Bracewell made his ODI debut for New Zealand in 2022 at age 31. He scored 141 off 65 balls in a Super Smash T20 for Wellington, leading a dramatic chase from 43 for 5 to victory. Bracewell scored 74 not out and took four wickets in a second-innings effort during a series in Pakistan.
