Jasprit Bumrah Knocks Harry Brook Off-Stump: On a rare occasion in Test cricket, the ICC No. 1 ranked Test batsman and bowler faced off on Thursday, when Jasprit Bumrah and Harry Brook crossed off, no less at the historic Lord’s cricket ground.
The onset of this contest left everyone intrigued as to what would happen when the best Test batsman and bowler in the world collided. The answer was a scorching delivery from Jasprit Bumrah that rattled the off-stump of Brook.
On day 1 of the India vs England 3rd Test at Lord’s, with the game hanging in balance, Bumrah pulled it slightly towards India with the huge wicket of Brook, who recently climbed to the No. 1 ranking for ICC Test batsman following his 99 and 158 in the first two Tests of this series.
Bumrah, who was rested from the second Test that India won, returned for the Lord’s Test. While he went wicketless in the first session, he had kept the England batsmen on a tight leash, building pressure with his channel bowling.
This time, he got plenty of support from the other pacers—Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, and Nitish Reddy—which consequently helped India pile up pressure on England despite Joe Root and Ollie Pope batting out the entire second session, though in an uncharacteristic, anti-Bazball manner.

Reddy took out the openers in the first session, and in the third, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah struck with the wickets of Pope and Harry Brook, respectively.
Bumrah produced a sensational ball to Brook, who seems to have a weakness against deliveries that jag back into him on length. The Indian spearhead pacer sent down a good length delivery outside the off-stump that continued to come in with his angled arm.
Brook, who was on the off-stump guard and whose shuffle had gotten his front leg outside the off-stump, got beaten, with the ball taking the inside edge and thudding into the off-stump. The England batting sensation was dumbfounded by Jasprit Bumrah’s genius, who celebrated with a characteristic grin.
