By tea, South Africa was 154/8. Bumrah came back in the final session, Bowling Simon Harmer and taking his fifth wicket. It was also the first time since 2008 that a fast bowler had taken a five-for on the opening day of a red-ball test in India. South Africa were bowled out for 159 in 55 overs, a collapse that began only after Bumrah entered the story. India wrapped up the innings at 159 all out in 55 overs.
