IPL 2025 Suspension To End In A Week: The ongoing season of IPL 2025 has been suspended by the BCCI due to the recent cross-border conflict between India and Pakistan. However, reports have emerged that this suspension will only last a week, following which the league will resume.
On April 22, several terrorists attacked and gunned down tourists in J&K’s Pahalgam. These attackers had connections to Pakistan. So, in the early hours of May 7, the Indian armed forces bombed nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistani territory.
Now, there have been several exchanges between the defence forces of the two countries. From India destroying the Pakistani air defence mechanism, to Pakistan launching several missiles and drones on several Indian cities, only to be destroyed by our defence systems.

All aspects of life have been affected by the war-like situations between the two nuclear powers. From water treaties being voided, to stoppage of trade, and Pakistani nationals and diplomats being sent back to their country.
Another huge impact the recent conflict has had on the lives of Indians is that the ongoing IPL 2025 season has been suspended. The tournament had entered its final two weeks when the recent wave of conflict started with ‘Operation Sindoor’. On May 8, the Punjab Kings took on the Delhi Capitals in Match 58 of the Indian Premier League in Dharamshala’s HPCA Stadium.
The match was abandoned midway when the nearby cities of Jammu and Pathankot came under fire from Pakistani missiles. And now, less than 24 hours later, the league has been indefinitely suspended by the Board of Cricket Control in India.
