Tim David Contract
Tim David is not centrally contracted and also not state contracted, but he is still being selected for Australia regularly. This proves the old system is not matching the modern franchise cricket era.
Cricket Australia gives 23 central contracts each year. But in the 2024–25 season, Australia used 34 players across formats, meaning many important players are outside the main contract list.
The upgraded contract value was AUD $346,641 in 2024–25 and increased to AUD $353,574 in 2025–26. Cricket Australia also wants Tim David to be part of their ODI future towards the 2027 World Cup, especially as a finisher after Glenn Maxwell retired.
