WWE NXT New Year Evil Highlights

Ricky Saints Targets NXT Championship in 2026

Ricky Saints came to the ring and addressed the crowd while medics were helping Blake Monroe and Thea Hail. He said the North American Title match was paused, so he wanted to start 2026 his way. Ricky said he needed NXT last year, but now NXT needs him. He claimed he is the only real star and said no one in the locker room can compare to him. He said he is not leaving and will send other wrestlers back where they came from.

Ricky said 2026 will prove he is who he says he is. He spoke about natural stars versus stars being created and said he has been right for years. He mentioned Leon Slater and Oba Femi, saying he does not care about either. He said if Leon wins, he will deal with him later, and that his unfinished business with Oba Femi will be settled. Ricky ended by saying NXT and the NXT Championship will be in his hands.

Tatum Paxley vs Izzi Dame

Izzi Dame started strong by throwing Tatum Paxley into the corner and controlled the match with power moves. Tatum fought back with chops, kicks, and a Boston Crab in the ropes. The match turned when Tatum landed quick strikes, a Spanish Fly, and a series of clotheslines. Izzi answered with big suplexes and a spear but could not finish the match. Tatum recovered, hit a Liger kick and a 450 splash, then finished Izzi with Cemetery Drive to win the match.

Jacy Jayne vs Kendal Grey

Jacy Jayne and Kendal Grey started with technical wrestling, with Grey focusing on arm submissions early. Jacy escaped and took control by targeting Grey’s back and neck with strikes and holds. Grey fought back with suplexes, a slingshot double stomp, and a hesitation DDT but could not finish the match.

Outside interference from Fatal Influence played a key role late. Fallon and Lainey distracted Grey during a submission attempt. Jacy used the opening, avoided the final attack, and secured the pinfall to retain her title.

Thea Hail vs Izzi Dame

Izzi Dame attacked Thea Hail from behind before the match could settle. Izzi controlled most of the match by targeting Thea’s ribs with slams, shoulders, and power moves. Thea fought back with kicks, rollups, and a DDT, but she could not keep the momentum.

Outside the ring, Izzi choke-slammed Thea onto the announce desk and brought her back in, knowing a count-out would not win the title. On the turnbuckles, Thea tried for the kimura, but Izzi countered with a sit-out power bomb from the top rope. Dame won the match and became the new WWE NXT Women’s North American Champion.

Oba Femi vs Leon Slater

Femi and Slater started with lockups. Oba backed Leon into the corner and threw him across the ring early on. Leon used speed to fight back with kicks, a dropkick, and head scissors that sent Oba outside. Oba answered with a backbreaker on the apron, clotheslines, and a choke slam for a near fall.

Leon hit a crossbody, flying leg lariat, and a slam, getting close multiple near falls. Oba blocked Leon’s swanton 450 by getting his knees up. Leon countered with a crucifix and thrust kick, but Oba ended the match with a power bomb. Oba Femi won and remained WWE NXT Champion.

After the match, Oba posed in the ring. Backstage, Ava spoke to wrestlers about roster changes. Robert Stone told her to watch what Oba did. The show ended with Oba gone from the ring and the NXT Championship left in the center.
