India Cricket Team Schedule for August-September

India Cricket Team Schedule:- The Indian cricket team fans have been at the edge of their seats in the IND vs ENG Test series. The five-match Test series between the two giants of world cricket is set for an epic conclusion in the first week of August.

England lead the series 2-1 after the first four Tests, and the fifth Test, at The Oval, has been turned into effectively a one-innings shootout after England ended with a slender lead of 23 runs.

The IND vs ENG Test series, played for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, began on June 20 and has a conclusion date of August 4, the last day of the 5th Test at The Oval.

As the IND vs ENG Test series nears its end, the fans of the Indian cricket team must be wondering where the national men’s side goes from here and what their schedule is for the next couple of months.

When Is India Next Series After England tour?

India were initially slated to tour Bangladesh for six white-ball matches—three ODIs and three T20Is—from August 17 to 31. However, India’s tour of Bangladesh in August has been called off due to the strained diplomatic relations between the two countries, which could also have raised security concerns for the Indian team.

On July 6, the BCCI and the BCB released a joint statement, confirming the deferral of India’s white-ball tour of Bangladesh from August 2025 to September 2026.

This means that there will be no international match for the men’s Indian cricket team. The postponement of India’s white-ball series in Bangladesh also meant that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will continue to be away from international cricket for a couple more months, as they have retired from T20Is and Tests.

The next international series for the Indian cricket team will be the T20I Asia Cup 2025 in September. The ACC has confirmed the dates of the Asia Cup, to be played from September 9 to 28, though the venues are yet to be officially announced.

India are the designated hosts of the Asia Cup 2025, but since Pakistan will not travel to India, the tournament will either be played in a hybrid format, like the ICC Champions Trophy earlier this year, where all of India’s matches were played in Dubai and the rest of the games in Pakistan, or it will be played entirely in another country, probably the UAE or Sri Lanka.

India Cricket Team Schedule for August-September

India don’t have international matches in August, as their tour of Bangladesh has been called off. In September, India will participate in the Asia Cup, which will be in the T20I format.

India matches in the Asia Cup 2025:

India vs UAE- 10 September (Wednesday)

India vs Pakistan – 14 September (Sunday)

India vs Oman – 19 September (Friday)

There are eight teams in the Asia Cup, divided into two groups of four each. The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super 4 round, from where the top two will meet in the final, thus giving a possibility of potentially three India vs Pakistan matches.

India Cricket Team Schedule for October:

After the Asia Cup in September, India will host the West Indies for two Test matches before flying to Australia for eight white-ball games—three ODIs and five T20Is. Upon returning home, India will host South Africa, the ICC WTC champions, for two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is.

Then in January 2026, India will host New Zealand for three ODIs and five T20Is in the lead-up to the T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to be played in February-March in India and Sri Lanka.
