Kagiso Rabada Two Wickets In An Over WTC Final

Kagiso Rabada Two Wickets In An Over WTC Final: South African pacer Kagiso Rabada has taken two wickets in a single over and has given his team a brilliant start to the World Test Championship final 2025. Rabad dismissed Usman Khawaja and Cameron Green in one over.

The Proteas won the toss and decided to bowl first in the South Africa vs Australia final, which is being played at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. On a pitch where the pacers are getting a lot of movement off the surface, it was a good toss to win by South African captain Temba Bavuma.

The first spell of the day is being bowled by the great pace duo of Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen. The two express pacers trouble the Aussie opening pair of Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne a lot. In the first six overs of the day, while Marnus did get to rotate the strike regularly, Khawaja struggled mightily.

Usman faced 19 deliveries without scoring a run. While it was Labuschagne who looked to struggle more, scoring no runs after playing over three overs was not a good sign. So then, on the third ball of the seventh over and his 20th delivery of Khawaja’s innings, Rabada pitched the ball at a good length, and it angled out very slightly.

That change in angle was enough for the Australian opener to edge the ball, which was caught in the slips by David Bedingham.

Cameron Green then came in at No. 3, playing his first Test in over 15 months. The tall all-rounder punished the first ball he played, with the ball running away to the boundary rope at fine leg.

But then, the last ball of this over, the ball stayed low. Green, looking to save the ball from hitting his pads, brought the bat down and edged the ball, which flew into the hands of Aiden Markram at the slips.

Kagiso Rabada showed in one over why he is considered one of the greatest pacers of this generation and why he will be playing a massive role if the Proteas are to win this South Africa vs Australia final.

After two quick wickets, the familiar pair of Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith are on the rise. While Marnus is still struggling to hit shots, his strategy now includes leaving as many balls as possible. As for Smith, he will be the key to the Aussies building their innings back in this World Test Championship final in 2025.
