BCCI IPL stakeholders meeting October 15 for 2027 season

As the Indian Premier League approaches its landmark 20th season in 2027, the BCCI has called a comprehensive meeting of all key stakeholders to begin formal preparations for the tournament. The gathering follows a decision taken at the board’s Annual General Meeting to conduct the next season on a grand scale.

The meeting is scheduled for October 15 in Mumbai, with the venue understood to be Taj Santacruz at 6 pm, though final confirmation remains pending. BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the meeting details on Friday, October 9, 2026.

“We have invited all the stakeholders of the IPL, including franchise owners, broadcasters and hosting state associations,” Saikia was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

Why the BCCI is convening the meeting

The primary purpose of the meeting is to review issues and learnings from previous IPL seasons while addressing any concerns raised by stakeholders. Saikia outlined the scope of deliberations in a letter to state associations, emphasising their central role in the league’s success.

“As the league approaches its landmark 20th season in 2027, the BCCI proposes to convene a joint meeting of all key stakeholders, namely the State associations that hosted IPL matches, the Franchise owners and their Chief Executive Officers and the Broadcasters. The meeting is intended to review the issues and learnings from the past seasons, address any concerns and deliberate on the planning and coordination for the 2027 season,” Saikia said.

What will be discussed at the October 15 gathering

“The State Associations play a central role in the successful staging of the League and your perspective on matters of hosting, venue operations, and match-day coordination will be of great value to these deliberations,” he further said.

With the venue still to be finalised, the BCCI is expected to confirm the arrangements for the meeting in the coming days. The October 15 gathering will bring together franchise owners, broadcasters and state associations to discuss operational challenges, venue arrangements and coordination ahead of IPL 2027, as the board begins planning for the tournament’s landmark 20th season.

“We have not yet finalised the venue. We have just shortlisted a few options. We will take a final call soon. We look forward to your presence and valuable inputs and to working together toward making the 20th season of the IPL a truly memorable one.” he concluded.
