South Africa vs Namibia vs Zimbabwe Tri-Series 2026 Schedule

Namibia T20I tri-Series 2026 Schedule: Namibia is set to host a T20I tri-series, which will also include their neighbours and fellow African nations, South Africa and Zimbabwe. Today, we will discuss the schedule for this tournament, the squads for all three teams, and where to watch it.

The three teams will compete in a seven-match tournament. Each side will go up against the other twice. Then the teams that finish top two in the three-team table will compete in the final for all the marbles.

All the matches of this Namibia T20I Tri-Series will be played at the Namibia Cricket Ground in the nation’s capital of Windhoek. This is a fairly new stadium, having only opened in 2025. It has hosted 28 T20Is and just one ODI.

This is a standard limited-overs pitch, where bowlers tend to get some movement in the early go. But as the ball and the surface get a little older, batting becomes easier. This is why the vast majority of games played here were won by the team batting second.

Now let’s look at all three teams and how they have fared in recent months. First up, South Africa. The Proteas are definitely the big dogs in this competition and the clear favourites to win it all, despite some of the biggest players missing from the squad.

South Africa reached the semi-final of the 2026 T20I World Cup, played in India earlier this year, where they were thrashed by New Zealand. They were then hosted by the Kiwis for five T20Is. They have not played an international game since, with most of their players competing in franchise tournaments across the world.

As for the hosts, Namibia, they had a fairly forgettable 2026 T20 World Cup. They lost all their group games and were bounced out of the first round. They then exchanged wins with Oman in the ICC CWC League 2. Then came a three-match T20I series at home, which they lost 2-1.

Namibia then hosted a tri-series against Nigeria and Hong Kong, all of which they won. Most recently, they have defeated Nepal and the Netherlands in CWC League 2 games.

Finally, Zimbabwe. They had quite the memorable 2026 T20 World Cup, where they, surprisingly, topped their group over Sri Lanka and Australia, defeating them both to secure a Super 8 berth. They then suffered three losses in the second round and failed to make it to the semis.

Then, they had a memorable Test victory over Bangladesh, followed by a 2-1 ODI win against the Bangla Tigers and a 2-1 T20I series defeat. Most recently, Zimbabwe was whitewashed by India in a three-game T20I series.
