Jadeja and Archer Destroy CSK Batters

RR vs CSK Live Score: The Rajasthan Royals have thoroughly dominated the Chennai Super Kings with the ball in Match 3 of IPL 2026. This is the first game for both teams this season.

The RR vs CSK match is the third game of the 2026 season of the Indian Premier League. The match is being played at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, and the Royals win the toss and decide to bat first. The decision to bowl first was taken because it had been raining in Guwahati an hour before the match.

This immediately proved to be the correct decision as, in the second over, Nandre Burger dismissed CSK’s latest opener and former RR captain, Sanju Samson, off an absolutely unplayable out-seaming delivery.

Samson was bowled out for six off seven. Then, in the next over, after taking on a lot of pressure from dot deliveries, captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was bowled by Jofra Archer for six off 11.

The flow of wickets never really stopped, as on the first delivery of his next over, Burger bowled a bouncer to young Ayush Mhatre, who was caught behind for a golden duck by Dhruv Jurel. To put a cherry on this garbage cake for CSK, Matthew Short got out in the final over of the powerplay as he was tricked by a slower one by Sandeep Sharma.

Impact Player Sarfaraz Khan scored a couple of boundaries before becoming Ravindra Jadeja’s first wicket back in the Royals’ jersey, being caught before the wicket. Jadeja as a whole looked quite impressive here and definitely won the one-on-one battle against Sanju Samson, the player for whom he was traded.

Jaddu took another wicket later in his first over of the match, as he dismissed the dangerous Shivam Dube, who was caught at long-off.

Kartik Sharma, making his IPL debut, made 18 runs off 15 balls before being caught before the wicket by another debutant in Brijesh Sharma, who impressed with his pace variation today. On the other hand, Noor Ahmed played nine balls, made only one run, and was caught behind off a Jofra Archer delivery.

One Rajasthan Royals bowler who was yet to take a wicket at this point was Ravi Bishnoi. The Rajasthan native played his first game in the Royal-pink in IPL 2026 today. He picked his first in the 16th over, as No. 10 batter Matt Henry was caught and bowled for a run-a-ball five.

At 94/9, it seemed that CSK might not even reach the three-digit mark. However, the duo of Jamie Overton and Anshul Kamboj is overqualified for being a 10th-wicket partnership. As a result, the two formed the highest 10th-wicket partnership in the history of the Super Kings franchise.

Spearheaded by Overton, who was the highest run scorer for his team today by a mile, making 43 off 36, he, along with Kamboj, made 33 runs before the last wicket fell, which was Overton getting run out in the final over. The Chennai Super Kigns’ innings ended when they were all out for 127 runs in 19.4 overs.

Jofra Archer, Ravidra Jadeja, and Nandre Burger picked two wickets each for the Royals today, with Archer being the most economical with a four-over spell of 2/19.
