Cricketers with Other Jobs: Rinku Singh is set to be appointed as a Regional Sports Officer by the Uttar Pradesh Government. Along with this, the state government has announced a bigger plan to support athletes. This includes giving government jobs, cash rewards, and honors to players who have performed well at national and international levels.
Other athletes are also getting roles. Rajkumar Pal, who was part of India’s bronze medal-winning hockey team at the Paris Olympics, will be appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police. A total of six international medal-winning athletes are being given jobs, and the appointment letters will be handed out by Yogi Adityanath at a ceremony in Lucknow.
Paralympic athletes are included too. Praveen Kumar will become a DSP, while Ajit Singh will be appointed as a District Panchayat Raj Officer.
On top of jobs, the government is also giving financial rewards. Around ₹1.64 crore will be shared among 14 players, and 19 more will receive support through the Eklavya Sports Fund. Some athletes will also receive the Lakshman Award and Rani Lakshmibai Award, along with cash prizes and recognition.
