David Payne is an English left-arm fast-medium bowler who made his debut for Gloucestershire County Cricket Club in 2009. He also represented England at Under-19 level and played in the 2010 U-19 World Cup.

David Payne Personal Life

David Payne had a very emotional and special period in his personal life when his daughter was born. He and his wife welcomed their first child, Ferne, in a hospital in Bristol.

Just a few days after becoming a father, he left home to play a match at Lord’s Cricket Ground. It was an important moment for him because he had never played a four-day match there before. Even though he wanted to stay with his family, he decided to play that one game.

During that match, he had the best performance of his career. He took 11 wickets against Middlesex and helped Gloucestershire County Cricket Club win the match quickly. Because the game ended early, he got extra time to return home and be with his newborn daughter.
